How-to Video Production

We were contacted by our friends at EBY Design to create 150 multi-language, How to videos for Brother. Part of a larger campaign, for EBY Design, these videos would show electricians how to perform several functions, using the Brother PT-E550W handheld printer.

Brother supplies and supports a complete range of technology products and services across the business and consumer markets and are dedicated to helping people work smarter and more efficiently. The PT-E550w cleverly allows electricians to quickly print labels on the job, so they are able to name and number various wires; sockets and boards.

As a full-service agency that’s not quite “full in-house” having a resource like Soup to call on at the drop of a hat is invaluable.

We have worked together for many years and have got to know the team both personally and professionally - from small animated showreels to multi-language instructional guides, they make the whole process so simple. Their attention to detail and sheer will to get the job done makes them a pleasure to work with.

Translation & Multi-language Voiceovers

The key to such a large project was organisation and communication which is something we embrace across all our clients. Once we had written all the content and scripts for the videos, we set up the studio for filming. As we needed to show the printers in the various languages, it was important to achieve this visually with the printers themselves, as well as the graphics in post-production. Timing was crucial for each take of each language in order to make the editing process easier, by dropping in the voiceover for each language.

Once the English language and EU languages were signed off, we organised the scripts to be translated and recorded in 13 other languages, including Dutch, Finnish, Czech, French, Spanish, Danish, German Hungarian, Italian, Norweigan, Polish, Portuguese and Swedish. The graphics for the mobile app also had to be produced in each of the thirteen languages, which were created beforehand.
