The challenge

The National Trust’s brief was to encourage people’s playful side – to help them be spontaneous, wild even, to inspire them to try new things, and embrace the countless opportunities of summer with family, friends and loved ones.

Our approach

We produced a series of videos focusing on ‘Play’, including four main videos covering four different locations across the North; conveying the breadth of special places where people can spend playful summer days.

As well as the four main videos, we also produced several short social media videos, specifically for Instagram, covering a range of themes like Adventure Play and Wild Play.

Filming took place across four days at Gibside, Wray Castle, Fountains Abbey and Quarry Bank.

The results

The final edited videos were an integral part of their visitor campaign, driving awareness of their play offer to audiences in the North, and subsequently driving people to visit their website to find more info and ultimately make a visit.

The videos needed to be sharable, fun, natural and spontaneous, focusing on genuine experiences, showing families playing in a variety of activities.
