School Visit our Chester Studio

Soup had the presence of some of the children from Dallam Community Primary School, who were invited into our Chester production studio, to find out more about animation and what we do here.

Our Creative, Emily Roberts, gave a presentation to explain the different types of animation and we spent time discussing the different types of animated films out there, like Wallace and Gromit, Frozen and Snow White.

We then looked at Stop Motion animation in more detail and used a neat little app to create our own short Stop Motion film. The children also took some time to sketch their own characters that could be transferred across to an animation, including a unicorn and a super hero!

Once the presentation was complete, we took a group photo on a green screen background and played around with the background, before heading to the studio to meet the rest of the Soup team. The children really enjoyed their visit and asked lots of questions.

After all the questions had been answered, the children and their teachers headed to have their lunch down by the river, before heading back to school to make their own Stop Motion film on Greek Gods.
